Mr. Steve Barr
a. What did Mr. Barr talk about?
Mr. Steve Barr talked about how his experience was in high school. He also talked about how he came up with the idea of creating a charter high school.
b. What did you find the most interesting? Why?
I don’t think I found any of his speech interesting. But I did find it interesting that he could relate all the stuff he went through to our own experience in high school.
c. What do you think about Mr. Barr?
I think he is pretty cool because he is a person who can encourage us by giving us motives to come to school and become successful in life.
d. What did Mr. Barr teach you about leadership and making change in your
life? In this school? In this community? In this world?
I guess he taught us that it is better to keep trying and not to give up. Also to do something to change the way we think and to give motives to some one else become great in life.

The Pope has passed away.
"There's a Hole in My Sidewalk" by Portia Nelson
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in. It's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault. I get out immediately.
IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
V
I walk down another street.
I DON’T THINK SHE REALLY FELL INTO A HOLE EVEN THOUGH THAT COULD HAPPEN. I THINK THE HOLES IN THE METAPHORE IN THE POEM ARE JUST HOLES OF DISPARE IN SOME ONES LIFE. I GUESS BESIDES THE TRENCHES IN PAINTBALL, I HAVE FALLEN INTO HOLES OF DISPARE IN AN EDUACTIONAL MATTER.
2) When I first read this poem, I thought of what's happening to your grades. Some of you seem to be stuck in the hole #2: your grades go down; you pretend you don't see it; you have "F"s again; you can't believe you're in the same place; you say it isn't your fault; it takes you forever to get out or you don't get out at all. What hole are you in right now? Why do you think so?
I WAS IN A HOLE LIKE A WEEK AGO BUT IT SEEMS AS IF THOUGH I’M GETTING OUT AND HAVE STARTED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE HOLES ON THE SIDEWALK.
3) In terms of your grades, what do you have to do to reach step V and not fall into the hole of letting your grades drop? If you have already reached step V, how did you get there; and what advice can you give to the students who are stilling falling into "holes"?
MAN, I DON’T THINK I’M THERE YET BUT I DO BELIVE THAT I AM GETTING THERE. I DON’T THINK I CAN ADVICE ANY BODY YET BECAUSE I STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.

Have you ever thought how death will be?
The fact of dying is kind of cool. I have always wondered how it would be to die. I guess it would all depend on the way you would die. I mean if you die a gruesome death it wouldn’t be cool. Now if you die in your sleep now that would suck. Why? It is because you would never be able to know if you are dead or not. If I were to die I would like to die in an exploding plane. I would like to die that way because I believe that by dying in an explosion you would feel the east amount of pain. In an explosion you might just feel a horrible stinging and that would be all. That is why I would like to die that way. Not only would you die with the slightest pain but you would stay in the wind, in the sky forever looking at the world.

Luis and Chris
I don't really care much about what happens to Luis or Chris, but I do have to say that they knew the consequences and yet they still did it. Bringing a B.B. gun to school is just stupid. The fact that they had an opportunity of not doing such stupidity was immense. They had a choice of doing something awful and leaving the B.B. guns away. They had a great opportunity and yet they did not take it.

I will respond to Sandra
You asked in many of your comments why I am so critical in many of my blogspot. Well I will just write a few of the reasons why I think the way I do.
1) I talk so gruesomely about the government because of all the outrages facts that make up the government. The pilgrims came to this land (and now is called, “
2) This country was to be a country without political supremacy. Now what do we end up with? George W. Bush. Now what is that?
3) I hate this government and always will. Well that is what I think.

Luis Rodrigez
- Luis Rodriguez said he joined a gang because he wanted power? Do you think Luis has power now? Why or why not?
- I don’t think Luis Rodriguez has power any more because he is old and now he knows what his limits are in the sense of his own will of power. Luis might have had power but it was an unmoral kind of power. Luis had no power when he was in the gang. If he had power he wouldn’t have listened to others. If Luis had had power he would have been able to create his own crew. Luis was never an idle of power and to me he isn’t either today.
- Do you think Luis is a leader? Why or why not?
- I don’t believe that Luis I a leader because of the fact that I was not convinced that he has change his motive in live. To me a leader is some one that listens to others and tries to take their advice. Luis Rodriguez did not show that when we were visiting at his Café. Luis Rodriguez owns a Café called “Tia Chuchas” I believe. I don’t know Luis that well so I don’t believe that he is a leader.

Valentines Day

1) What is a leader? What is the difference between a good leader and a bad leader?
- A leader is some one that makes you feel bad about yourself. A leader does not understand your motives. A leader only wants you to do what they want you to do. Teachers are an example of leaders; they only want you to learn what they are teaching you. But then again the school’s administration leads them and they have to follow. There is no such thing as a good leader. There are only leaders and followers.
- There are leaders in everything in life. Religion=GOD, Streets=Gangs, Jobs=Bosses, School=Teachers who=Principles who=School Administrations who=Government who=Money.
2) When and where have you been a leader? Describe the moment you were a leader.
- I have never been a leader and hope not to be one, because if you are one people will depend on you and if something goes wrong you will be the one that gets blamed. And if you are blamed you will be looked as a bad leader.
3) In your life, who do you consider a leader? Why?
- I only consider my father and my mother as leaders because they truly know what is best for me. I trust my parents because they are my counselors in life. With out them I would probably be a gang banger in some gang. I might hang out with some gang bangers but thanks to my parents I am not one.

Danny Trejo speaks to Animo Venice student body
Danny was talking about been a gang banger and how it can ruin ones life. He talked about staying in school. and how he turned his life.
2. Of all the things he said, what connected with you the most? Why?
I guess the fact that he was able to change his life. He said he did it by not using drugs anymore and helping other people.
3. What did you learn from his talk? How can you take what he leaned and apply to your life, this school, your home, and your community?
I guess whata stuck on was the fact that everyone can change their lives if they want to.

Falcons at Eagles
Michael Vick leads the Falcons in a difficult game against the Eagles for the NFC title who do you think is going to win. In the other hand Donovan McNabb has gotten the Eagles to the NFC title game for four consecutive years. This game will not be an easy one for the Falcons but we shall see Sunday 23 at 3:00 p.m. Good luck on your bets. I’ve already put 20 bucks into the Atlanta Falcons.

Baton Rouge
African-American boycotted buses for eight days. In 1953 80% of bus drivers were black. many people forgot about boycott. Some guy named Jemison got involved in the movement when watching black people were standing in the bus after a long days work. it was against the law to sit in the front isles with whites. The Baton Rouge City Council agreed to open all seats on the bus except for the two front seats. Before the compromise white bus drivers went on strike for 4 days to fight the first compromise, which was to let blacks fill up the back half and the front have for whites on a first come first serve bases. After the boycott the segregation in buses in Baton Rouge ended.

President George Bush, Yes or No?
But as for me I don’t care. I don’t support President George Bush or any one else. All I am is a member of a broken society.
Memories
What will you remember about your generation? What will you hold as important to you?
Ex: 9/11, the war on
There has been nothing of importance so far in the generation I am living in. so I have nothing to remember. And 9/11 was tragic but not memorable.

back 2 school
Man have you ever noticed that just when you are getting comfortable on Christmas break you have to go back to school. I just went paintball shooting yesterday and my body still aches. However, screw it I am coming to school anyways because it is worth it. I get to learn new things and stuff.
